After you purchase your Alpaca you probably would like to get them home and begin using them in the workshop.
Our Ranch (Elegante Vellon) is in Southern Utah on the I-15 Corridor between Salt Lake City, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since most proffesional haulers normally come down and through Salt Lake City, Utah and catch the I-80 Corridor, this is where we meet them 90% of the time.
There are occasions when a hauler comes up or down to us via I-15 yet seldom.
You will have (4) Choices once you have secured you beautiful alpaca to get them home safe and secure.
Following choices 1 - 4 (only) for alpacas located in Cedar City, UT.
1) Have a hauler of your choice or one we recommend come direct to our ranch.
This can actually be (more expensive) unless the transporter is already on I-15.
2) Make a vacation out of it and drive here personally to pick them up.
See the country and let us take you out to lunch or dinner when you arrive.
3) Have us drive to Salt Lake City, Utah and meet the hauler near I-80.
NOTE: Elegante Vellon (separate from any purchase agreement) charges $300 (per) TRIP not per alpaca. It is 540 miles round trip for us.
We can try and schedule more than one customers alpacas on the trailer to spread the cost between 2 or more customers, yet if not available this fee must still be paid as our fuel costs alone average $200. As you can understand if you trailer alpacas to events or shows we must factor in the wear and tear on our vehicles Engine and Tires. Plus, we run empty home which is a big difference from the Pro Haulers.
4) You feel the need for speed and do not want to wait for a haulers time line and/or share the limo with other alpacas. We will personally haul your alpacas (privately) to your door for $1.00 per mile (round trip). This option can normally take place within 2 weeks of you purchasing. Sometimes sooner. This price is non-negotiable because of time, fuel, vehichle wear.
Service #4 is for you and your animals (ONLY). They will be treated as pampered children. Stops regulary every 3 hours to let cria's nurse and adults get up and move around AKA Eating & Drinking. We believe in this and are not in such a hurry that it should be overlooked or taken lightly.
ALPINE SURI (transport options):
If you have purchased a Suri Alpaca from Alpine Suri, these animals are currently in Alpine, UT which is just 25 miles South of Salt Lake City, UT.
Many transporters go right thru this area and our experience tells us that one can usually transport from this region all the way to the East Coast for $500 or less. This is an (average) pricing, sometimes there are locations East that will be more expensive.
